SIIL Announces the Launch of the Faculty of Psychology
Starting October 1, 2025, the Swiss International Institute Lausanne will launch its Faculty of Psychology, dedicated to training specialists in modern psychological science and practice.
The decision to establish the faculty comes in response to the growing societal demand for qualified psychological support, mental health development, and the integration of interdisciplinary approaches within educational and social sectors.
The faculty will be headed by Katerina Giroud, a practicing psychologist and member of the Federation of Swiss Psychologists (FSP) and the Association of Psychologists of the Canton of Valais. Her extensive experience in clinical and organizational psychology, along with her active involvement in professional communities, served as the foundation for her appointment as Dean.
The new faculty will oversee educational programs, research projects, and practice-oriented initiatives in the following areas:
- Cognitive and General Psychology;
- Neuropsychology and Psychotherapy;
- Social and Organizational Psychology;
- Applied and Pedagogical Psychology.
The faculty’s inaugural program will be the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, designed in accordance with European academic standards (240 ECTS).
The program has been approved by the Academic Council and will be open for enrollment starting October 1, 2025.
