Transfer from another university
SIIL recognizes the importance of students’ prior learning, including formal, non-formal, and informal education. We offer a process for recognizing this knowledge for students seeking to transfer from other institutions.

What is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process by which your previous learning can be recognized and valued. This process focuses on learning outcomes rather than the process of learning. It is important to understand that RPL recognizes learning even if it has not been formally assessed or measured.

How does RPL work?
01. Submitting an application
Students wishing to enrol on an undergraduate programme may apply for RPL if they can demonstrate achievement of the relevant learning outcomes.
02. Training evaluation
The learning must be equivalent to the learning outcomes or achievement criteria set out in the curriculum and supported by the necessary evidence.
03. RPL Decision
SIIL does not award full qualifications solely on the basis of RPL. It is important that learning is not double-counted for different academic qualifications.
