Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answer to your question

What accreditation does SIIL have?

The Institute has been included in the register of higher education institutions of the Canton of Vaud, which allows it to issue diplomas apostilled by the Municipality of Lausanne. In addition, SIIL has successfully undergone an external quality assessment of its educational services by the Swiss agency EDUQUA and has received a 5-star rating in the QS Stars rating system.

SIIL is also approved as a member institution of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
Currently, SIIL is undergoing institutional accreditation with the ENQA-recognized accreditation agency IAAR, as well as program accreditation with the ENQA-recognized agency AQUIN, both based on the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

Why are prices in euros?

Tuition fees at SIIL are listed in euros, even though Switzerland uses the Swiss franc, because our institute attracts students from all over the world. The euro has been chosen as the primary currency for tuition payments due to its wide availability and convenience for international students. This makes the payment process easier for those living in European Union countries or in other regions where exchanging into Swiss francs may be more difficult.

By offering payments in euros, SIIL aims to make financial transactions simpler and more accessible for its students, regardless of their location. We hope this approach makes the payment process easier and more convenient for all students.

Where can I find information about SIIL graduates?

To protect the personal data of our students, we are not permitted to disclose information about them without their consent.

However, you can connect with SIIL students and graduates in our official Telegram community.

Is the SIIL diploma recognized in Switzerland?

Diplomas issued by SIIL are recognized in Switzerland, as confirmed by the presence of an apostille.

An apostille is an internationally recognized method of document legalization, including diplomas, which verifies their authenticity.

SIIL handles the apostille process for its graduates’ diplomas. This means that a SIIL diploma is legally recognized in Switzerland due to the apostille, which is a key factor in confirming its legitimacy and recognition.

At the same time, it is important to note that public universities in Switzerland may not recognize diplomas issued by private institutions in the country. Therefore, one should not expect to transfer from a paid program at a private institute to a tuition-free program at a public university.

How will I receive my diploma?

Once the student confirms the accuracy of the personal information provided on the diploma, the SIIL diploma will be mailed from Switzerland to your country of residence.

You can also pick up your diploma in person at the institute's campus in Switzerland, located at Route des Flumeaux 42, 1008 Prilly.

How quickly will I receive my diploma after completing my studies?

The document is typically prepared within 10 business days after the successful defense of the final thesis and verification of the graduate's personal information. Delivery times may vary depending on your location.

Please also note that to receive a diploma, the student must have no outstanding academic records in all courses of your program, as well as no outstanding tuition fees.

Who can apply to SIIL?

Students from anywhere in the world can study at SIIL. Students can enroll after successfully completing their secondary education or transferring from another university. There are no entrance exams required for admission.

What documents are required for admission?

The list of documents required may vary slightly depending on the country. The basic set of documents includes:

Copy of passport
3x4 digital photo
Notarized copy of educational document
Study contract
Copy of name change document (if you have changed your last name)

How does the admission process at the institute work?

To enroll at SIIL, you must register on our website.

After registration, a consultant will contact you and provide a list of required documents.

You will then need to pay for your chosen educational program. Once payment is successful, you can begin your studies without delay.

After admission, students receive a contract and a letter confirming their commencement at the institute.

Students can also apply for an International Student Card on the ISIC website. When a student applies for an International Student Card, the institute receives a request to confirm their e-mail address. Once confirmed, the card is sent to the specified address.

What is the tuition fee?

Tuition starts at 860 euros per semester.

P.S. Program fees may change for prospective students, but this will not affect those who have already signed a contract with the institute.

How does the training proceed?

SIIL offers online courses through our e-learning platform, siil.ch.

Students have access to a variety of materials and assignments, including video lectures, reading material, using online resources, and writing coursework.

The course also includes webinars for material discussions and individual consultations with students.

This means you only need internet access on your preferred device to study. You can be anywhere in the world and combine your studies with work, as you can study at your own pace.

Where should I go if I have problems during my studies?

Each student at Swiss International Institute Lausanne is assigned a personal mentor. This person will support the student throughout their studies and throughout their degree.

SIIL students also have access to a student chat where they can discuss their studies with other students and contact the institute administration. You can access the chat through your personal account or by contacting your mentor.

How are credit points calculated?

Students earn credits by successfully completing academic subjects. This process includes not only regular class attendance but also achieving satisfactory grades (higher than an E) on assignments, exams, coursework, and tests.

Faculty at the Swiss International Institute Lausanne (SIIL) design curricula so that students can earn 60 credits per year by successfully completing all subjects.
