This collaboration opens up unprecedented learning opportunities, giving you access to thousands of high-quality online courses from prestigious educational institutions and industry leaders worldwide, all while remaining at SIIL.
Our partnership with edX offers two distinct pathways for expanding your educational horizons:
Pathway 1: Integrated Elective Courses
As part of your degree program, you’ll have access to 12-20 carefully selected elective courses through the SIIL learning space on edX. These courses have been specially translated into Russian for SIIL students. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn ECTS credits that will be integrated directly into your diploma. This represents a true form of academic Virtual Mobility, bringing international education to your doorstep.
Pathway 2: Optional Learning Catalog
Beyond your core curriculum, you can explore our extensive optional course catalog, featuring over 150 specialized courses in Management and IT. These courses are available in both Russian and English, and you’ll have access until December 31st to complete them at your own pace. While these optional courses won’t count toward ECTS credits, they will be formally recognized in your Diploma Supplement, adding value to your academic profile.
Professional Recognition
Successfully completing either elective or optional courses often leads to professional certificates, which you can showcase on your social media profiles and include in your CV and portfolio, enhancing your professional credentials.

To begin your virtual learning journey, follow these steps:
- Contact your Academic Assistant to get access to these courses with the following information:
- Full name
- Study programme
- Year of study
- Email address
- Your preference: elective courses or optional course catalog
- Watch for an email containing detailed access instructions
- Access the SIIL study space on edX using your provided credentials
- Select your desired courses:
- For electives: Choose from your study programme’s course list
- For optional courses: Choose from the catalog of available options courses you want to study
- Follow the provided tutorial for guidance on:
- Navigating the study process
- Switching language preferences
- Completing assessments
- Downloading your certificates
