Program Overview

A short course of 3 disciplines in which you will learn:

data management,
electronic commerce,
information processes and systems.

In two months you will learn:

what is the decomposition and aggregation of systems,
how to analyze and model information processes,
how to develop a business idea for an IT project and develop a marketing strategy,
how to form a team of IT specialists and attract investors, etc.

Afterwards, you can continue your undergraduate degree program “Information Systems and Programming” at a discount of the cost of the course.

Educational material is provided in the format of video lectures and tests.

The order and timing of the disciplines students choose for themselves.

Disciplines

Basics of C++ programming

After completing this course, students will be able to understand the fundamentals of programming and algorithms—understand the principles of writing code and structuring programs, work with variables and data types—use basic types (int, double, char, string, bool) and apply safe data conversions, and use control structures—apply conditional statements, loops, and functions to create program logic.

Introduction to Python Programming

After completing this course, students will master basic programming concepts such as variables, data types, operators, and flow control (conditionals and loops). They will learn how to create and use functions to organize and reuse code, as well as import and use modules to extend program functionality. They will work with basic Python data structures such as lists, tuples, sets, and dictionaries, enabling them to efficiently store and process data. They will also learn how to handle exceptions and errors in code, helping them create more reliable and robust programs.

Theory of information processes and systems

After completing this course, students will be able to analyze information processes—understand their role in an organization and their main characteristics, classify and describe information systems—identify system types and their functional features, and apply modeling methods—develop mathematical and logical models of information processes.

Git and GitHub Basics

After completing this course, students will be able to use Git to track changes in projects, including creating repositories, committing, viewing change history, and managing branches; use GitHub to store and collaborate on projects, including creating remote repositories, cloning, pull requests, and merging changes; work in a team using Git and GitHub, including managing conflicts and merging changes from different participants; and complete practical assignments and projects that will help reinforce the acquired knowledge and demonstrate its application in real-world software development scenarios.

What accreditation does SIIL have?

The Institute has been included in the register of higher education institutions of the Canton of Vaud, which allows it to issue diplomas apostilled by the Municipality of Lausanne. In addition, SIIL has successfully undergone an external quality assessment of its educational services by the Swiss agency EDUQUA and has received a 5-star rating in the QS Stars rating system. SIIL is also approved as a member institution of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). Currently, SIIL is undergoing institutional accreditation with the ENQA-recognized accreditation agency IAAR, as well as program accreditation with the ENQA-recognized agency AQUIN, both based on the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

SIIL's tuition fees are listed in euros, even though Swiss francs are used in Switzerland, as our institute attracts students from all over the world. The euro was chosen as the primary tuition currency due to its widespread availability and convenience for international students. This simplifies the payment process for those living in the European Union or other regions where exchanging Swiss francs may be difficult. By offering euro payments, SIIL aims to make financial transactions simpler and more accessible for its students, regardless of their location. We hope this decision will make the payment process easier and more convenient for all students.
